Inclement Weather Policy

Parking Services is currently closed due to the recent ice/snow storm. Staff will be responding to emails remotely on Thursday and Friday. We will reopen at 8 AM on Monday.
Facilities Management continues to work around the clock to ensure campus life is back to normal as quickly as possible. Please help make their job easier by doing the following when on campus:
Faculty/Staff parking on campus Thursday/Friday: Please park in any “D” or “E” surface lot or garage. We ask that you do not park on the inner loop or any other roadway, as FM will be continuing to widen the loop and parking along the loop will not only impede the clean up efforts but may result in unnecessary damage to your vehicle.
Residential Students currently parked along the loop, and on any other roadway, are being asked to temporarily relocate their vehicles to the Stadium Lot. FM is working 24/7 to widen the loop and parking along the loop will not only impede the clean up efforts but may result in unnecessary damage to your vehicle.

Walker Residents please leave your vehicles parked in  LOTS 20 & 21. Walker leadership will continue to send updates  as they continue to clean-up and eliminate safety hazards.
Monday 2/2 @ 8:00AM all vehicles parking on campus will need to park in their designated zone. Based on the campus conditions UMBC Parking Services and Police will be monitoring campus for vehicles parked on the roadways and in areas not reserved for that create a safety hazard. These vehicles will be cited and if necessary towed.
We appreciate your patience and assistance as we all work to get back to campus!

When a decision is made to close the campus due to a snow emergency, parking will be prohibited on interior campus roadways, including Park Road, Back Road, Center Road, Poplar Avenue and Walker Avenue. Parking will also be prohibited on the top level of all parking garages and decks, and on the center ramp in Walker Garage. Vehicles should be relocated to Lots 3, 23, 24, Stadium Lot, or the middle and lower levels of Walker Avenue, Commons and Administrative Garages. See our campus parking map for the parking lot locations. Failure to remove a vehicle may result in a citation and/or towing at the owner’s expense.

Clearing the elevated parking deck of Administration Drive Garage (Visitor Parking) is problematic under freezing weather conditions, so please advise your guests of alternative parking in Commons Garage. If the Administration Drive Garage upper deck is closed, minimal Accessible parking spaces will remain available.

For more information, please view the UMBC snow removal plan: a campus map showing the approach to clearing campus roadways, parking lots, and walkways. Information about parking during snow and ice removal can be found at: parking.umbc.edu.
