PERMITS REQUIRED FOR FALL SESSION
Permits are available at the UMBC Parking Portal.
First-year residents are identified by Undergraduate Admissions. The classification is based on high school graduation and first semester at the university, not on college credit hours earned. All first-year residents will remain the same classification for the entire academic year.
First-year residents with vehicles must apply for a permit following the process under ‘Student Permits’. The ‘F’ permit is attached to your vehicle’s plate and is valid for parking at the Satellite Lot located at UMBC South Campus, 1450 South Rolling Road, Baltimore, MD 21227. UMBC Transit provides a bus route to the Satellite Lot. Schedules for the Arbutus/MARC route are available at: UMBC Transit.
First-year residents are restricted from parking on the main campus from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Your vehicle may remain parked on the Satellite Lot at all times; however, you have the option to park on Stadium Lot outside of the restricted hours, as long as you have a valid F permit.
The resident first-year parking restriction begins on the first day of classes for fall and spring semester. During the winter and summer sessions, first-year residents may park on the main campus in Zones ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’. Your designation must remain the same for the entire year (even if you surpass the required credits during the year).
Exceptions to the parking restriction will be granted to those who have a valid medical or educational need as determined by Student Judicial Programs. Submit the completed form located under Parking at Student Judicial Programs with supporting documentation for consideration.
